Taming the Pacific Swell:
Two hundred and fifty years ago, while European explorers were scouring the Pacific islands, they were greeted by Polynesians riding the waves on hand carved wooden boards. The Maritime Museum of San Diego's latest exhibit, Taming the Pacific Swell, celebrates this phenomenon.
