FHA program for FICO scores between 580 and 640 is designed for borrowers who have experienced an extenuating circumstance which has resulted in a credit score that does not meet our standard FHA guidelines. Each file must be documented with a letter of explanation from the borrower and with documentation evidencing the derogatory credit incident was not due to financial mismanagement, but was the result of extenuating circumstances beyond their control.
